NHS Wales - Velindre
As you may or may not be aware, Mike Voss, GW8ERA, one of the founder members and constructors of GB3BC, has entered the terminal stages of his cancer and he is slowly retiring from his involvement with the running of the repeater group due to his failing health.
As a thank you to the exemplary care he's received from Velindre (firstname.lastname@example.org) he's decided to make the ultimate sacrifice, he is going to say good bye to his trademark pony tail and beard! He is going to a local hair dressers (surely worth a donation of a few pounds in itself!!) and going to have the snip, snip, snip so to speak.
He is going to have this filmed and put on YouTube in a hope to get you all to put your hands in your pockets, dig deep and give some cash for Velindre Cancer Care to help them in their brilliant work.
He is hoping to have a "donate" button on the YouTube page so you can "Pay per View"
If you'd like to send a donation the old fashioned way you can send donations direct to Mike at 9,Chapel Close, Garndiffaith, Pontypool NP4 7QS.
All money will be collected together so Velindre can be presented with one of those huge cardboard cheques on the day, so dig deep and give what you can afford to support cancer care in south Wales.
BCRG has decided to make Velindre it's supported charity and hopefully will be able to arrange more events to support on-going cancer care in the future.
The arranged date for Mike's close shave is the 27th of June, though due to the nature of Mike's illness this could change at short notice. Many thanks for your time
